5 out of 5 stars Excellent portable MLB game.   March 16, 2008

This is my first baseball game I purchased since MVP Baseball 2004 for my GameCube four long years ago. I'm glad I bought this one. The graphics for the game are well done. And while it's clear the engine does need to be upgraded graphichally I can still compare the player potraits to the 3D models.

The batting and pitching remind very much of MVP. While it does take a few games to adjust to the batting controls, you can get plenty of hits and drive in quite few runs once you get the timing down correctly.

The mode selection is deep and varied. The announcers are very good. But the soundtrack is definitely the weakest part of the game. Thankfully you an import your own songs to the in-game playlist, though you won't hear them during the games.

Excellent baseball game overall. Highly Recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Great Baseball on the Go!   July 9, 2008

What's great about this game? I can't actually play it on the go. A lot of psp games, really aren't pick up and play games. The Show is, which is awesome. It only takes a few minutes to get into a game, and if I don't finish, no worries. The power save feature is fantastic. I don't have to turn on the game, and remember what I was doing. This game offers plenty of modes, although I'm dissappointed there isn't a franchise mode.

The game looks great for the PSP, PS2 quality imo. It runs smooth most of the time. I've been playing this game for months, and it still has me coming back for more. It doesn't seem to get stale. The worst part for me is during RTHS it's hard to see the ball at first if you play the infield. So reaction can be a little bit slow. Overall this game provides me with endless hours of fun on the go, anytime, anywhere. Great game for baseball fans on the go.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best baseball video game series.   March 22, 2008

I have played the series since 2006, and it seems that every one improves greatly. For example, this game has in depth pitch analysis, and instead of just hurling any pitch to the batter, you have to pick a pitch, then locate it, but it's not always a automatic strike. Also, There is this fun option in Season mode where you can ignore the budgets and restraints on teams, and just get a all star team for fun, That's what I have done, and it is sure fun to steal from the other teams. It's fun for a while, but eventually it gets boring having the all star team. Also, finally accurate positions for the players. The 2006 had everything old, and it was a decent game, but it sucked. Also, the cover star Ryan Howard is one of the most perfect ball players, and is hard as hell to strike out. But, some of the players abilities are exaggerated, for instance, Virgilio Ordenez isn't that good as the game makes him out to be. Plus, The other options are lacking. Overall, it is a fun game that I will keep buying every time there is a new version out.

5 out of 5 stars Similar to years past, and that's a good thing!!!!   March 5, 2008

I've been playing this game for a few hours now and I have to say, it is very, very good. I have played 'The Show' for the last two years on PsP and this could be the best of all three
I know last year, the frame rate dropped a bit on '07 from the 2006 game. This has been fixed this year. The graphics are very similar to what they have been the last few years. But hey, they are good in my book! No need to improve when the gameplay shines like it does!!

They now have an updated 'Road to the show 2.0'. This is one feature I have not played around w/ yet, but I know GameSpot.com has a extensive review on this feature.

If you looking for a baseball game, this is the one! I have heard terrible things about MLB 2k series again this year. I would buy this game on the Ps3 in a second as well if I had one. I have a 360 and it looks as if I'm stuck w/ PsP baseball again this year.

5 out of 5 stars Great Baseball game for the PSP   July 30, 2008

This is a great baseball game for the PSP! The graphics are crisp and the controls are easy to use. Also it has the "road to the show" mode where you can create a player and guide him from the minors all the way to the bigs. The level of depth in this is really awesome and it's truly addictive. I am so glad I made this purchase, you will not be disappointed!!
